A Fine-Dining Restaurant Launches Online and Takes Its First Reservations
Sutherland and Jesse of Lacou built and launched their website, took their first online reservations, and now run their financials and inbox with AI.
Lacou is widely regarded as the best restaurant on the island of Dominica. Its co-owners came into a joint session as non-technical operators, and left building.
They walked away with a fully live website at lacoudominica.com, built and launched themselves. They took it a step further and connected a table-agent widget on their own, so the restaurant can now take reservations online, on mobile and desktop, for the first time in its history.
The work reached the back office too. They set up AI to navigate their financials and accounting workbooks, taking real weight off the day-to-day, and built automated organization for their inbox, so email lands in the right categories and they can work through it with AI instead of by hand.
Most of all, they left with the workflow to keep going: how to talk to the model, scope what they want, and build the next thing themselves.
We came in with minimal technical background and left fully ready to build, while also getting to understand the true power of AI. We learned how to optimize the power of our computers and AI to make our own website, a design system so everything we put out looks official, and we tightened up our back office. We were able to connect our POS system and accounting software with AI to do in-depth analysis and generate custom reports. We are excited to continue using the skills we learned to face any challenge that might be thrown at us in the future and do it without the need for support.
